Verified SIM activation without a stored ID copy
Say this plainly first: nothing below is a shipped integration. No mobile operator, not Türk Telekom, not any carrier or MVNO, is a Solidus customer, and no eSIM activation has ever been fed by a Solidus-issued credential, live or in test. Read the rest as a thesis, not a case study.
The proof event and the pain
A traveller lands, buys a travel eSIM to get connected, and hits a from-scratch identity capture, document photo, form fields, at exactly the worst moment for it: on arrival, often on unreliable airport wifi. The same traveller may have had a passport verified an hour earlier, at hotel check-in or airline boarding. Nothing today carries that earlier proof forward. The eSIM provider re-collects identity it has no way to know already exists, because the requirement to collect it is real and the mechanism to reuse a prior result is not.
The regulatory driver
Tying identity to activation before a connection goes live is a common requirement across telecom generally, and in several markets, Türkiye's among them, is a statutory one enforced by the national telecom regulator. Whether and how that rule applies specifically to a short-stay travel eSIM, as opposed to a domestic postpaid line, varies by market and is not something to state as settled without checking the market in question. Incumbent operators in markets with this rule are already compliant, the gap this vertical targets isn't "no verification happens," it's that the same subscriber's already-verified identity gets re-captured at every additional touchpoint instead of travelling with them.
The mechanism
An already-verified traveller, holding a credential issued from an earlier check elsewhere in the network, presents it at eSIM signup and the activation-allowed proof is emitted without a fresh scan or a new document photo. Today that proof is built on Solidus's document-capture-and-face-match identity pipeline; voice liveness, NFC chip reads, and live video-call verification are not confirmed running in production and this page doesn't claim them. This stays an optional fast lane, not a replacement: the eSIM provider still keeps whatever registration record its own regulator requires it to keep. Solidus removes the re-capture step at the counter, not the provider's underlying compliance obligation, which a reused credential never discharges.

What this isn't
This is not a case study, not a pilot, and not a claim that any carrier relationship exists beyond ordinary market research. It is not a claim that a reused credential discharges a telecom's own SIM-registration obligation: that obligation stays with the operator regardless of what identity proof the subscriber arrives holding. And it is not a claim about a specific country's regulation where the detail hasn't been checked market by market.
